I print these on plain copy paper because pencils don’t bleed and nobody is precious about the easy ones. One nitpick: a fast adult finishes a page in about ten minutes, so print two or three per person or someone ends up just rattling the pen tin.
The Dense Pages That Eat a Whole Evening
This is the deep end. These are book-interior pages, the kind sold to people who publish coloring books, which means the linework is packed. Real sit-down-and-disappear material. The pumpkin mandala that converted Lynn was this style, circles inside circles inside circles.
Gel pens earn their keep here. A pencil tip goes blunt halfway through one wedge of a mandala. My one gripe: the layout assumes a bound book, so there’s a wider inner margin on one side, and printed as a loose sheet the design sits slightly off-center. I trim the fat edge and nobody has ever noticed.
One Sheet, Zero Commitment
One design, one sheet. I use this as the icebreaker: print six copies of the same page, hand them around, and everyone colors the identical picture. Comparing them at the end is half the fun. My mom’s stayed neatly inside every line. My partner’s turkey was purple.
The obvious catch is that it’s a single design, so once the table is hooked you need a bundle waiting behind it. But as a test balloon for whether your family will actually do this, one sheet costs almost nothing to find out.
Something for the Small Hands at the End of the Table

Gnome girls with enormous hats and long braids, and I almost skipped them as too whimsical for a Thanksgiving table. Then a Friendsgiving guest picked one up and spent the entire evening on the braids alone. Metallic gel pens on the hat trim, if your tin has them, look ridiculous in the best way.
Fair warning: the hair sections are tiny. Pencil people will be sharpening every few minutes, this is gel pen territory. And the girls aren’t strictly Thanksgiving, more all-of-autumn, which means they don’t expire the Friday after.
Pumpkin Girls with Actual Shading Lines
Cute pumpkin-girl characters, somewhere between a fairy and a farm stand. The linework builds in little curved shading strokes on the pumpkins, so colored pencils get to do something here that gel pens can’t: lay rust over ochre, blend it out with the pencil’s side, and suddenly it looks like you know things.
One mistake I’ll save you from. Leave the faces alone, or use your lightest pencil. I put gel pen on a cheek once. There is no undo on gel pen.
The Middle-of-the-Road Stack Everyone Actually Picks
Harvest tables, cornucopias, turkeys with a reasonable feather count. Medium detail, sitting right between the kids’ book and the mandala deep end, and at my table these are the pages that vanish first. Lynn calls them the normal ones.
Small gripe: two or three designs lean on the same pumpkin-and-leaves border, so flip through the file before printing and skip the near-twins. Print the rest on whatever’s in the tray.
Country Scenes for the Quiet Colorers
Barns, old trucks, fence lines. The quiet ones. I colored one of these alone at the kitchen window the Saturday after, coffee going cold next to me, and it was the best twenty minutes of that whole weekend.
Heads up on the skies: country scenes mean big open areas, and filling a sky with gel pen is a wrist workout nobody signed up for. Use the side of a pencil and sweep it. Sage for the fields, if you’re taking suggestions.
The 262-Page Rabbit Hole
Two hundred sixty-two pages. Do not print two hundred sixty-two pages. I sat down to pick ten favorites, and when I looked up the dishwasher had long since gone quiet and I was still on the thumbnails.
The right way to work this one is as a November tap: print a fresh handful every few days and the table never sees a repeat. The catch is the choosing itself, there’s no index, so I keep a note on my phone with the numbers we liked. Page 47 is the good mandala.
The Set I Hold Back Until the Pie Is Gone
Blankets, mugs, a fireplace, a set table. These pages match the exact mood of that hour after dessert, which is why I don’t bring them out any earlier. Lynn has claimed the fireplace scene two years running and will fight you for it.
One thing: the shading-heavy designs want heavier paper if your table runs gel pens. On copy paper the ink ghosts through to the back. I print this set on 65 lb and the tin gets passed around without anyone asking which pages are safe.

How long is kids thanksgiving break?
Depends where you live. Most districts give Wednesday through Friday, which with the weekend adds up to five days of kids at home, and a growing number now take the entire week. Either way it’s longer than one turkey dinner.
That’s the honest argument for a big bundle over a single sheet: you’re not filling an afternoon, you’re filling a week of gray November afternoons, and a fresh page each day costs you one trip to the printer.
Can I print these at home?
Yes, that’s the entire point. A basic inkjet handles line art fine, black ink only, so even my perpetually-low cartridges cope. Plain copy paper works if your table colors with pencils.
If gel pens are in play, feed the printer something heavier, 65 lb at least, or the ink shadows through the back of the page. And if your printer is down, the library charges me about fifteen cents a page and asks no questions.
What file formats do these designs come in?
Mostly PDF, which is exactly what you want for coloring pages: open it, hit print, pick your page range, done. Some sets also include JPG or PNG versions of each page, handy if you want to shrink two onto one sheet for the kids’ end of the table. Whatever opens a PDF on your computer already does the job, no special software involved.
Do I need a Cricut or Silhouette to use these?
No. Coloring pages are print-and-color, there’s no cutting machine anywhere in the process. Cricut and Silhouette matter for SVG cut files, vinyl, cake toppers, that side of the shop. If a listing here mentions SVG at all, it’s a bonus format, not a requirement.

Before You Print
If you only do one thing, print the single sheet six times and leave the stack on the cleared table next to the pen tin. Don’t announce an activity. Announcing kills it. Sit down, start one yourself, and watch who drifts over first. At my table it was the person who can’t draw.
